From candidate we require:
- Passport copy (mandatory)
- Address of registration in home country (mandatory)
- Non-criminal record (mandatory)

List of documents for C visa in embassy/visa center (approximate, all depends on concrete embassy) :
1) Application form personally duly filled in and signed by the applicant.
2) One recent passport size photograph in light-colored background, size 3,5 x 4,5 cm
3) Passport/travel document must:
a) have a validity of at least 3 months after the intended stay
b) be issued within the previous 10 years
c) have 2 blank pages
4) Two way (flight, train, bus) ticket reservation (in accordance with insurance and accommodation).
5) Overseas travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries. The insurance has to cover the applicant for at least 30,000 euros or equivalent, for all risks e.g., accident, illness, medical emergency, etc.
6) Contract for the employment and declaration by the Employer for answering the regulations of the Bulgarian legislation and providing the necessary conditions for accommodation and labour safety.
7) Notary clarified declaration, with official stamp by the Bulgarian Ministry of Labor Employment Agency for short term access to the Bulgarian labor market.
8) Previous Employer’s certificate needs to contain the following: job title, address, start date of employment, monthly amount of income. Formal requirements: letterhead paper, stamp, and corporate signature.
9) Detailed bank account statement of the past six months with regular transactions of the salary (the amount mentioned in the employers certificate).

List of documents for D visa in embassy (approximate, all depends on concrete embassy):
- Passport (and copy) with 18-months validity;
- Copies of the pages of the passport with the personal data and with the issued visas and/or residence permits;
- Color photo (recent, passport format);
- Documents, justifying the visa request, as well as copies of these documents;
- Insurance policy (and copy) for the whole period of stay, issued by an Insurance Company with a license to carry out insurance activities on the territory of the European Union, with a minimum amount of coverage of 30,000 euros. The policy should cover all repatriation costs as well as emergency medical care and emergency hospital treatment for the period of stay.
- Evidence of an existing accommodation in Bulgaria. If there is a contract for rent, there should be a notary verified declaration by the owner, that he/she agrees for the tenant to be registered at the address of the property;
- Evidence (for example – a bank statement) of the possession of the necessary financial means for subsistence (the amount of minimum 6 monthly wages /or, for pensioners – pensions/ for the Republic of Bulgaria);
- Certificate of non-conviction (police clearance certificate), issued by the home country or by the country of residence of the applicant.
- А certified copy of the work permit, issued by the Employment Agency at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
