The list of foreign countries where foreigners can apply for a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania or a national visa is changing.

From October 22, 2025, the list of foreign countries where foreigners can apply for temporary residence permits or national visas through the branches of an external service provider will change. From the specified date, the branches of the external service provider in Albania, Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Tajikistan, and Venezuela will be closed. At the same time, external service provider offices will be opened in new countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ghana, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. A new office in Mongolia will start operating earlier, on July 1, 2025.
Foreigners will be able to apply for a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania or a national visa in a foreign country not included in the list if, in agreement with the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of the Republic of Lithuania or its authorized institution acts as an intermediary for such foreigners.
The list of branches operating in foreign countries has been amended, taking into account the needs expressed by employers, higher education institutions, and other social groups during public consultations, as well as the conclusions of the relevant state institutions.
By Order No. 1V-442 of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania of June 25, 2025, which establishes the aforementioned amendments.
